never stay at the AVALON hotel in cancun!! it is 5 star but it is the worst!! ugh!

my family has gone to the airport to go home and we had booked to stay here in cancun, them one night and me 2, as i leave for egypt tomorrow. but this hotel has been a disaster!! it took us an hout to check it even though i had done it online. then we went for our late breakfast and the food was cold and the staff stood there waiting for us to leave so they could go! the beach is barricaded off... for our safety!? then last night my room started to smell bad. it is the air conditioner leaking something. gave me an instant headache. i called downstairs and a maid came to spray something and a guy with a ladder arrived but didnt do anything. they went away and i slept with the ac off and the patio door open..... not a great sleep! then today as soon as i turned it on again it is still the same... waiting to see the hotel manager... funny we stayed for 9 days at the OSORIO hotel in isla mujeres, no stars and perfect... $25 a day. now this!! really looking forward to egypt!
