hello my family and friends. i hope that your new year is much more fun than mine, my adventure has been shaking a really persisstant cold. and i still have it, i had been bed ridden for all of the yoga retreat in negril. a very beautiful place with lovely grounds. the staff was wonderful but there was nothing but time that i needed and lots of sleep. new years eve brought large parties right across the road and on the road too before the night was through!! the famous 7 mile beach starts across the street. i made it out there for a bit one day, it is beautiful. miles of white sand, the ocean the colour that makes you want to cry when the sun dances with it. such beauty, and not busy it was easy to stake a spot. then the crack heads start...oh that is is so sad, there are so many and they just smoke thier crack and ask you to buy some and and talk a million miles an hour and amoke and talk and try to sell to every person who walks by. they dont care who it is. i wasnt feeling well anyways but this certainly drove me back to my room faster than than the sand fleas would have!
but new years eve,it was filled with music and fireworks horns and laughter. the parties didnt end before 4am.
\when i first arrived in jamaica i spent 3 nights on the cliffs, at a place called home sweet home. it was also beautiful but with a large room with 2 queen beds (the yoga place was barely big enough to house the 2 singles). the beds were very comfortable and the food was good, i fell in love with this fruit called akee. it is cooked like a vegatable with onions and garlic. it is so good. i met 2 older american women there, terri and jean. we went to ricks bar to see afamous sunset and the cliff divers. that was something. the divers are so beautiful...... there were cliffs that we could jump or dive off at our place too but we just climbed down and snorkeled there. it was quite deep and beautiful but also rough. more for edventure swimming than snorkling.
the american women had a driver named robert who befriended ayla. he also drove us to our different hotels.
now we are at the doctors cave hotel across the street from the doctors cave bathing club. i will get pics...promise. violet
