OUR FIRST DAY IN THE JUNGLE!

IT WAS AN AMAZING DAY FILLED WITH A 2 HOUR TRECK THROUGH SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL JUNGLE. WE SAW A GIBON MONKEY AND A VERY RARE RED MONKEY AS WELL AS SOME BEAUTIFUL PLANTS AND MUSHROOMS. TRENYN ENJOYED SWINGING FROM THE VINES LIKE AN ORANGUTAN! IT WAS SO HOT AND HUMID THAT WE WERE SOAKED IN SWEAT LIKE I HAVE NEVER BEFORE. IT WAS FUN THOUGH.
THE CAPITAIN AND OUR GUIDE DECIDED THAT THEY WANTED TO TRY SNOKELING IN THE CROC INFESTED WATERS. SO THEY BORROWED OUR EQUIPMENT AND ALTHOUGH THEY HAD NEVER DONE IT BEFORE...OFF THEY WENT! SO FUNNY TO WATCH 2 GROWN MEN LAUGHING AWAY AS THEY LEARNED!
IN THE EVENING WE WENT BACK INTO THE JUNGLE TO THE FEEDING PLATFORM TO SEE IF ANY ORANGUTANS SHOWED UP, BECAUSE OF FRUIT SEASON THEY RARELY DO, AND THEY DIDNT. THERE WERE A BUNCH OF VOLENTEERS THERE, THEY WERE HELPING WITH BUILDING, WHAT A GREAT THING FOR THEM TO DO. THAT IS A PICTURE OF US WAITING, THE 2 GUYS NEAR TRENYN ARE OUR NEW FRIENDS FROM CHILE. BUT ON THE WAY BACK WE MET UP WITH A MOTHER ORANGUTAN AND HER BABY. OUR GUIDE OFFERED HER FOOD AND SHE CAME DOWN THE TREE LEAVING HER BABY UP HIGH.
SHE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL. WE WERE ABLE TO EACH GIVE HER A SECTION OF ORANGE. IT WAS INCREDIBLE. WHEN I KNEW THAT I WAS GOING TO HAND FEED AN ORANGUTAN.... I KNEW THAT I WAS ABOUT TO HAVE A MOMENT... IT WASNT ONE THAT I HAD PREPARED FOR AND IT WASNT ONE THAT I COULD MAKE LINGER... I WILL NEVER FORGET HER BEAUTIFUL BLACK HANDS AND HE GENTLE FINGERS TAKING THE ORANGE FROM ME. I WHISPERED THANK YOU TO HER AND PUT MY HANDS TOGETHER IN GRATITUDE.
WHAT A DAY!
ON THE WALK BACK TO THE BOAT. THERE WAS TRENYN AND ME AND OUR GUIDE AND A LOVELY ENGLISH COUPLE AND THEIR GUIDE, AND THE RAIN CAME! TOURENTS, IT WAS AMAZING TOO! TRENYN RAN AND SLID DOWN THE PATHS.... OUR GUIDE TRIED THAT TOO! WHILE WE WERE WALKING AND LAUGHING AND SLIDING AND RELIVING OUR FEEDING OF HER, 3 WILD BOARS CAME CRAASHING THROUGH THE BUSH AND ACROSS OUR PATH! WOW, THEN THERE IN THE BUSHES AT THE SIDE OF THE PATH WAS (VERY) BIG-MOMMA BOAR AND A BUNCH OF SQUEELEY BABIES. THEY WERE SO CUTE! SHE ON THE OTHER HAND HAD THE LONGEST SNOUT I HAVE EVERY SEEN!!
WHAT A DAY!! THANK YOU.
